Caste Certificate
The caste certificate play important role during recruitment process. It must be valid and issued before the prescribed date mentioned in the notification.
On the basis of the such Certificate any candidate can avail reservation benefits meant for particular category in the recruitment process.
Cancellation of Caste Certificate
Before cancellation of the certificate of any candidate, the authorities ought to have given an opportunity of hearings to the affected person. Cancellation of such certificate without compliance of natural justice cannot be accepted in eye of law.

Double Jeopardy on Fake Caste Certificate
The petitioner was charged with submitting fake certificate and false information regarding his category. He was penalized for said misconduct by imposing a penalty of reduction of pay.
Once having imposed a penalty, the respondents have no right to impose a penalty once again for the same misconduct.
